How did this happen?!?! Before last night, the longest you had ever slept was about 5 hours. Well, recently I’ve noticed that you have grown from a double-chin to four chins. And I’m very proud! You’re a great milk-drinker! It suddenly occurred to me that most times I wake you up in the middle of the night, instead of vice versa. In fact, you’ve never cried in the middle of the night. Never!! Instead it goes something like this …
I wake up in the middle of the night. I can hear you softly cooing or grunting. You’re not upset (and probably not awake at all). But I miss you! So I hop up and scoop you up! And you’re ALWAYS game for a milk meal!!
So last night I decided to wait it out. I fed you after my MBA class at 9:45. Then, I waited for you to wake me up. I waited. And I waited. And I waited!! I checked on you several times just to make sure you were still breathing! And you were always sleeping peacefully. So exactly 8.5 hours later, when your dad got up for work this morning, we scooped you up and gave you breakfast. And you’ve been smiling all morning! Almost giggling after that peaceful night of sleep!

That’s my lesson! Let a baby sleep!!
